Plaques are normally plates of metal, ceramic or some other material that are engraved with some text that usually relates to some person, place or event. They are hung on a wall or placed on top of a flat surface. There are commemorative or presentation Plaques. The commemorative type may be attached to houses in order to mark their association with some event or they may even be commemorating a deceased person or people. Plaques are used for identifying buildings or recognizing people, places, deeds or events. They add a feeling of distinction and quality to any building. They can be used for many reasons such as granting an award or gift. You can also use them as nameplates, ornate designs just for their aesthetic value, house signs, dedication boards, and for many other occasions. Plaques such as bookends, desk nameplates, family trees, door nameplates and house signs can be used as fine and useful gifts. They usually come in fixed designs. However, minor adjustments can be made to areas like the color or the font type. Some companies also sell Plaques that can either be hand cut or sand blasted. They may also differ in their finishing. For example, a painted plaque would be different quite different from many others. For a classier and more refined look, there are also acrylic and glass Plaques that are quite exquisite. They even come in different colored marble finishes and can be quite pleasantly noticeable. In addition to these, they are also sometimes made of wood and marble. Moreover, they can also have a photo placed on them, and in some cases you can slide photos onto their frames. They can vary in size to suit each individual`s needs, and the numerous designs can be suited to your style and taste.
